Pecan Apple Sauce Pie

Ingredients
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup cane sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1/4 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 2 large eggs
- 2/3 cup Santa Cruz Organic® Apple Sauce
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup coarsely chopped pecans, plus 5 whole pecan halves
- 1 unbaked pastry shell (9-inches)
- 1/2 cup heavy cream, chilled
- 2 tablespoons Powdered sugar
Directions
- Step 1
HEAT oven to 375°. Combine brown sugar, cane sugar, flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Stir in eggs, apple sauce and vanilla until blended. Stir in chopped pecans.
- Step 2
PLACE pastry shell on baking sheet. Pour filling into pastry shell. Arrange remaining 5 pecan halves on center of pie. Bake for 33 to 37 minutes or until set. Cool. Chill.
- Step 3
BEAT cream and powdered sugar in medium bowl with electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Place into decorator bag fitted with large star-tip. Top pie with 8 swirls of whipped cream.
